Exploring New Shores
How I Spent My Summer Vacation
By Robert Reeves, Treasurer & Board Secretary
Ahhh, summer vacation… This year has been especially hectic for me, with lots of business travel over to Europe and the Far East. With all the time away from home, it was a pleasure to disconnect, kick back, and relax for an entire week with just the family. Typically, we’d be thinking of heading south for a summer beach vacation but we’d been hearing really good things about the Cape. Traveling with two young boys made the choice to go somewhere drivable that much easier. If you’ve ever been locked in the car with two kids under the age of 4, then you know the special type of traveling joy that brings. Ultimately, we decided to go to Martha’s Vineyard and stayed in family friendly Oak Bluffs. Not having gone on a real vacation in 2 years, we were all looking forward to trying somewhere new, AWAY from the Jersey Shore! Thankfully, we ended up with amazing weather and spent our lazy days at the beach, Ocean Park, and exploring the island. Nights were well spent on the balcony with great local take-out, sleeping boys, and a glass of wine. All-in-all, it was a great time with the whole family, and I’m already looking forward to the next time we can get away together.
