Shannon McGinnis

Having grown up in a family that valued the arts, Shannon has always been surrounded by vibrant paintings and the rich language of literature. Originally from Connecticut, she attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts where she was privileged enough to be taught and mentored by published writers. There she pursued her love of writing and now hopes to bring this passion to students with the same desire to create. It was the richly diverse environment of her high school that inspired her to give back to students that lack the same resources she was fortunate enough to have.

Shannon is now attending Adelphi University on Long Island and working towards a Bachelors of Social Work. She still dedicates time each week to read and write poetry.
